As many of you already are aware, Tom McShea , MMA Business Representative, ended his association leave with MMA on February 17, 2009 so that he could return to the Department of Corrections and retire from State service on March 3, 2009 . Tom was a great employee and we wish him well in his retirement. Taking Tom’s place is My Lee who started on a part-time basis with MMA on April 6, 2009 ; My will go full-time on May 20, 2009 .
My is currently pursuing her Juris Doctor degree at William Mitchell College of Law. She anticipates graduating in May 2010.
My Lee comes to MMA with experiences working as a law clerk at the Ramsey County Public Defender’s Office where she represented clients in first appearances criminal court matters on misdemeanor, gross misdemeanor and felony charges. Prior to working at the Ramsey County Public Defender’s Office, she clerked at the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota. She represented Hmong clients at their naturalization interviews with US Citizenship and Immigration Services in Bloomington . Prior to her law school career, she worked for Target Corporation as an Owned Brands Coordinator where she coordinated vender samples to the product development and food scientist team for evaluation. My served as a board member for the Community Action Partnership for Ramsey County Headstart Policy Council in 2005-2006. She is currently the president- elect for the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association at William Mitchell College of Law.
As a result of the staffing change, there will be only minor changes to departmental assignments. My will assume the majority of Tom’s departmental assignments and duties. We are pleased to have My working for MMA and welcome her to the MMA staff and team.
