A House Bill (HF3558) is in front of the Minnesota House that calls to eliminate 15% of the State workforce and associated costs over the next five years. The bill calls for the use of an early retirement incentive, furloughs, layoffs, a hard hiring freeze, a wage freeze and by restructuring the defined benefit pension programs to defined contribution plans.
At this time, this bill has been denied a hearing in the House and does not yet have an author in the Senate, but please look at the bill and take any action you feel is appropriate.
