Supervisors at certain agencies, under specific circumstances, are eligible under the contract supplement for those agencies to receive a holiday premium over and above what is provided for in ARTICLE 9 – Holidays. The language in those supplements state that “a supervisor shall receive a holiday premium of thirty dollars ($30.00) for each four (4) hours or portion thereof worked up to a maximum of sixty dollars ($60.00) for those holiday hours specifically assigned by the supervisor’s superior and worked on a holiday.”
Eligible supervisors are:
- Working in a Department of Corrections Facility.
- Working in SOS or MSOP at the Department of Human Services.
- Radio Communications Supervisors at the Department of Public Safety.
- Working at the Department of Transportation.
- Working in a Department of Veteran’s Affairs/Veterans Home.
The pay period containing the President’s Day holiday just ended and if you are eligible for the premium, please check to make sure you did put it on your time sheet and that you are going to receive the premium. MMA staff has been informed that at least at one location, at one of the agencies eligible for the holiday premium, that the supervisors have not been paid the premium for previous holidays. If you believe you should be receiving the premium but are not or have not been receiving the premium, please contact your payroll department and contact your MMA representative, as soon as possible, so that a grievance can be filed to ensure that you do receive this contractually required premium.
