During legislative session, the MMA staff and lobbyist continually monitor legislative activities concerning issues of interest to our members. However, the legislative process is very fluid and every changing and this task can be challenging as the number of legislative committee meetings and bills increase throughout the session.
If you become aware of any adverse “public employee” legislative bills that you believe may impact State employees, specifically MMA supervisors, please contact the MMA office immediately to ensure we are aware of this activity and are adequately tracking and addressing the bill.
MMA members are highly encouraged to contact your elected officials either in person, by phone, email or personal letter. Let your elected officials know your opinion on any of the bills that you feel are detrimental to State employees.

Additionally, if you need any “talking points” prior to addressing your concerns with your legislative representatives such as: negotiated increases (ATBs) over the last eight years, MSRS facts, employee health insurance contribution rates, or the EPI study (facts) about the under compensation of Minnesota public-sector employees compared to private-sector employees etc., please contact the MMA office.
